17:21Moonset
03:38Moonrise and moonset are for the calendar day (midnight to midnight) at this place. The Moon comes up about 50 minutes later each day, so on some dates it does not rise, or does not set, within that day. A dash then means the event falls on the neighbouring day.

| Period | From | To | What the texts say |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ravi yoga | 10:28 | 05:54 28 Jul 2026 |
When the Moon's nakshatra is the 4th, 6th, 9th, 10th, 13th or 20th from the Sun's: held to cancel many faults of the day, so it is sought for starting work. |
| Bhadra | Not today | The Vishti karana. Auspicious work is avoided in it, most of all while Bhadra is said to stay on earth; in the heavens or the underworld it is held harmless here. | |
| Ganda moola | 05:53 | 10:28 | The Moon in Ashwini, Ashlesha, Magha, Jyeshtha, Mula or Revati, the nakshatras at the joins of water and fire signs. A birth in it is traditionally followed by a shanti. |
| Panchaka | Not today | The Moon in Kumbha or Meena, from the second half of Dhanishtha to the end of Revati. Southward travel, roofing and gathering firewood are traditionally put off. | |
| Baana: Mrityu (danger) | 11:02 | 05:54 28 Jul 2026 |
Set by the Sun's degree within its sign, so each lasts about a day. Muhurta texts avoid Roga for medicine, Agni for building, Raja for dealings with authority, Chora for travel and Mrityu for weddings. |
Chandrabalam and Tarabalam
For your OWN birth rashi or nakshatra: the day favours you when it is listed. The Moon's sign is counted from your rashi (1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th are good) and its nakshatra from yours in groups of nine (Sampat, Kshema, Sadhana, Mitra, Parama mitra are good).

Choghadiya
The night sequence starts at a different point in the cycle from the day one, which is why the two are tabulated separately rather than one being derived from the other.

Hora
Twenty-four horas from sunrise, in the Chaldean order. They are UNEQUAL - the twelve day horas divide daylight and the twelve night horas divide darkness - so a summer day hora runs longer than an hour and its night hora shorter. The first hora of any day belongs to that day's own lord, which is where the weekday names come from.
