Why this date
Ashwina Krishna Trayodashi runs from 12 Nov 2001 18:58 to 13 Nov 2001 16:26 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.
The festival is kept on the first day on which this tithi is running at pradosh (dusk). Here is that moment on the day before, the day itself and the day after:
- 12 Nov 2001 · pradosh (dusk) at 18:17: the tithi had not begun
- 13 Nov 2001 · pradosh (dusk) at 18:16: the tithi was already over
- 14 Nov 2001 · pradosh (dusk) at 18:16: the tithi was already over
This year the tithi was running at no pradosh (dusk), so the festival goes on the day it was running at sunrise.
