Why this date
Ashwina Shukla Navami runs from 12 Oct 2013 15:26 to 13 Oct 2013 13:18 in Thāne, Maharashtra, India.
The festival is kept on the first day on which this tithi is running at aparahna (afternoon). Here is that moment on the day before, the day itself and the day after:
- 12 Oct 2013 · aparahna (afternoon) at 14:45: the tithi had not begun
- 13 Oct 2013 · aparahna (afternoon) at 14:45: the tithi was already over
- 14 Oct 2013 · aparahna (afternoon) at 14:44: the tithi was already over
This year the tithi was running at no aparahna (afternoon), so the festival goes on the day it was running at sunrise.
Dates and times are for Thāne, Maharashtra, India. Another town can differ by a day when a tithi changes close to sunrise. You can change the place above.
