Why this date
Vaisakha Shukla Navami runs from 20 May 2021 12:23 to 21 May 2021 11:11 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.
The festival is kept on the first day on which this tithi is running at madhyahna (midday). Here is that moment on the day before, the day itself and the day after:
- 20 May 2021 · madhyahna (midday) at 12:02: the tithi had not begun
- 21 May 2021 · madhyahna (midday) at 12:03: the tithi was already over
- 22 May 2021 · madhyahna (midday) at 12:03: the tithi was already over
This year the tithi was running at no madhyahna (midday), so the festival goes on the day it was running at sunrise.
